Timmy Global Health at Indiana University is the original and largest collegiate chapter. Dedicated Timmy students volunteer their time and talents throughout the year to advocate, fundraise, and serve. Raising awareness for health inequalities and disparities across the globe is a primary focus for all Timmy Global Health chapters. Through peer-led education efforts, such as the annual Global Health Symposium, IU Timmy members promote knowledge of global health issues among fellow students and the Bloomington community.
IU Timmy partners with nonprofits that are based out of Ecuador, Guatemala, and Tennessee. Our chapter is responsible for fundraising monetary donations and medical supplies needed for the continued care of these domestic and international communities. Each spring break, groups of IU student volunteers and medical professionals travel to these locations in order to transport these necessities and provide direct patient care.
Locally, IU Timmy members are involved in a variety of service activities, including volunteering at the Bloomington IU Health Hospital, teaching elementary students about exercise and nutrition with the IU Health G.O.A.L. Program, and repacking food to be distributed by Hoosier Hills Food Bank.
